Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs use of the LayrCake platform, software, services, and related systems (the "Services") provided by LayrCake Ltd ("LayrCake", "we", "us").

This AUP forms part of the LayrCake Terms and Conditions. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meanings set out in the Terms.

1. Purpose

LayrCake provides architectural infrastructure for building software systems.

This AUP exists to ensure the Services are used:

  • lawfully
  • securely
  • responsibly
  • without exposing LayrCake or other customers to harm

2. Permitted Use

You may use the Services solely for:

  • building, testing, and operating lawful software applications
  • internal development and production systems
  • AI-assisted generation of code and business logic within the Platform's constraints

Use must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Prohibited Activities

You must not use the Services to:

3.1 Illegal or Harmful Activities

  • violate any applicable law or regulation
  • facilitate fraud, financial crime, or deception
  • engage in money laundering or sanctions violations
  • promote or facilitate violence, terrorism, or extremism

3.2 Abuse, Security, or Platform Integrity

  • attempt to bypass architectural, security, or usage controls
  • reverse engineer or extract Platform components
  • probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without authorisation
  • interfere with the stability or performance of the Services

3.3 AI Misuse

  • use AI features to generate malicious code
  • deploy AI-generated output without appropriate review and testing
  • attempt to remove or override AI guardrails
  • use the Services to build autonomous systems that operate without meaningful human oversight where legally required

3.4 Intellectual Property Violations

  • infringe or misappropriate third-party intellectual property
  • upload content you do not have rights to use
  • use the Services to build products that compete directly with LayrCake

3.5 Data Protection and Privacy Violations

  • process Personal Data without a lawful basis
  • include special category or sensitive data without appropriate safeguards
  • violate data protection or privacy laws

3.6 Excessive or Abusive Usage

  • use the Services in a way that materially degrades performance for others
  • automate usage in a way that circumvents intended limits
  • engage in denial-of-service or resource exhaustion behaviour

4. Enforcement

LayrCake may, at its sole discretion:

  • investigate suspected violations
  • suspend or restrict access
  • terminate accounts
  • remove or disable offending content

Where reasonable, LayrCake will attempt to notify the Customer before taking action, except where immediate action is required to prevent harm.

5. Reporting Violations

Suspected violations may be reported to:

abuse@layrcake.com

6. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • ensuring Authorised Users comply with this AUP
  • monitoring their own applications and usage
  • implementing appropriate review and governance processes

LayrCake is not responsible for Customer-created applications or their effects.

7. No Waiver

Failure by LayrCake to enforce this AUP in one instance does not waive the right to enforce it later.

8. Changes to This Policy

LayrCake may update this AUP from time to time.

Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Governing Law

This AUP is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
